“The Note 5 Lite is a budget offering with a fingerprint sensor and an 8MP selfie camera with an LED flash”

Coolpad has added a new smartphone to its Note series in India with the launch of the Note 5 Lite. The phone comes as a successor to the Coolpad Note 5 (first impressions), which was launched in September last year. The Note 5 Lite is a budget offering that features a metal unibody design and a fingerprint sensor, which can also be used to make / receive or record calls, open apps and capture images.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite sports a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D scratch-resistant glass on top.

The phone features an 8-megapixel front shooter with a dedicated selfie flash and a 13-megapixel primary snapper at the rear. The device is powered by a 1.0GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, mated to a Mali 450 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The storage capacity on board is 16GB, which can be further increased up to 64GB by inserting a microSD card. Software-wise, the device runs Android Marshmallow with Cool UI on top. A 2,500mAh battery that offers 200 hours of standby time keeps the device alive. The 4G LTE-enabled offering comes with USB OTG functionality.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite has been priced at Rs 8,199, and will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting March 21st. The device comes in two hues – black and golden.
